Summer changes at the Hartley Library

This summer vacation, for the first time in its history, the Hartley Library will be open seven days a week. The new Sunday opening is in direct response to student requests and should provide a quiet haven for all our postgraduate students on summer weekends. Hours for Sunday opening are 9am to 9pm (self-service loans available).

Other changes over the summer include a remodelling of the level 2 entrance hall. This is part of a project to improve quality and capacity of space around the campus in response to the increase in student numbers; the remodelling should add another 78 seats.

The current Library entrance will close the week beginning 15 July with work expected to begin 29 July and be completed in time for re-opening on 16 September. During the work, the entrance to the Library will be through the doors on the south wing; from outside they can be found to the right of main entrance.

The self-issue and return machines will be available at the foot of the main staircase throughout the build.  The Course Collection will relocate to temporary shelving on level 1.
