All this week Southampton University Players will be at the Nuffield with their production of Immaculate by Oliver Lansley.
Synopsis
Mia is young, free and single and hasn’t had sex for a year. One morning she wakes up pregnant… with the Archangel Gabriel on her doorstep claiming parentage.
The situation quickly spirals into farcical confusion with a former boyfriend and a nerdy contemporary from school both convinced the child is his, closely followed by Lucifer, Prince of Darkness, adamant the baby belongs to him.
First seen at the 2005 Edinburgh Festival, Immaculate, despite its controversial plotline, is an irreverent, laugh-out-loud comedy dealing with religion, relationships and responsibilities.
Contains strong language throughout.
