Interested in learning more about aspects of art history and contemporary art? Join us at the John Hansard Gallery for the second in the series of informal adult short courses which provides an introduction to contemporary art practice within the context of art from the past.
Based on the work of Land Artists, Nancy Holt and Robert Smithson, this course provides participants with an interactive tour of the current exhibition at the John Hansard Gallery and introduction to work created by 19th Century landscape artists such as John Constable, whose paintings sought to address issues such as industrial and environmental change. In partnership with the Winchester School of Art and their research centre, Winchester Centre for Global Futures in Art Design and Media, this short course is convened by Dr. August Jordan Davis.
As places are limited, booking is essential by contacting the John Hansard Gallery on 023 8059 2158 or email [email protected] by Friday 28 June at 4pm.
Participants are advised to bring a packed lunch.
