Professor Sir David Payne attends alumni reunion experience

The Office of Development and Alumni Relations organised their annual Reunion Experience on 13 July for alumni from graduating years ‘63, ‘73, ‘83, ‘93 and ‘03.  The event saw over 180 alumni and guests returning for a day of tours, presentations and activities which showcased some of the University’s world-class facilities, top research strengths and updated guests with recent news and developments. There was also plenty of opportunity for alumni to catch-up with their friends and discover the many changes to campus over the weekend.

Professor Sir David Payne delivered the keynote speech in the evening before guests enjoyed a three course meal in Garden Court.  The evening drew to a close after a rousing performance from 1973 University band – Gland Band – who performed back on campus for their first gig in 40 years.

The event this year also integrated the annual Hartley Circle Reception which celebrates all donors that give £1,000 or more annually to the University. This provided our donors with an opportunity to see first-hand how their generosity is making an impact across campus and is contributing directly to the on-going success of the University.

The reunion is an opportunity each year for teams across the University to collaborate together to offer a unique experience to alumni coming back to campus for the weekend.
