This year the Welcome Project has committed to ensuring that there are a diverse range of inclusive induction activities on offer to our new students, so that everyone has the opportunity to get involved in something. Following a huge collaborative effort from colleagues in the faculties, professional services and SUSU, we have brought together an exciting and diverse programme of welcome activities for our students to participate in.
As described in a previous SUSSED update, we have developed an online welcome timetable in order to promote this wide range of activities to our students. Although still a work in progress, we are very proud of this new initiative and wanted to share it with you. It is a resource that is available to both staff and students and we hope you like it!
To use the timetables:
Visit southampton.likn.co/welcometimetables (or click through from the link on the Are You Ready? and Postgraduate Welcome sites)
Select the mode of study – undergraduate, postgraduate taught or postgraduate research
Select the subject of study
Select the course (for UG and PGT only)
Click “View Timetable”
There is also a secondary filter that enables students to select by accommodation, allowing them to access information on the events that are happening in their own halls.
The timetables are smartphone and tablet compatible, so we hope our students will use them everywhere on and off campus to find out more about the great opportunities they can get involved in over their welcome period.
The timetables will be populated with all events in time for launch on Monday 2September.
