WSA Design for Ageing Exhibition, 20 – 23 August, 10am – 5pm,Winchester Gallery, SO23 8DL.

The WSA Design for Ageing Exhibition explores how silver shoppers’ shopping experience can be improved by new product and service design.

The exhibition is based on research results from a two-year international collaborative research project, which has been done by researchers at Winchester School of Art, University of Southampton and Academy of Art & Design, Tsinghua University.

The project aimed to investigate challenges and difficulties that elderly consumers currently face during their supermarket shopping process within a cross-cultural context, and in turn to understand the way in which supermarket service and environment design can improve elderly consumers’ shopping experience in the UK and China.

In the WSA Design for Ageing Exhibition, there will be a display of the key findings together with several newly designed product concepts for improving the elderly consumers’ shopping experience.

See some of these new product design ideas illustrated in the exhibition and find out how they will change the designed world around you.
