Hampshire Fire and Rescue responded to an alarm on our Highfield Campus early this morning in the Chemistry building (number 29).
Crews attending determined that a minor incident occurred triggering the smoke alarms and safety systems in one of the laboratories, which alerted the emergency services. The building opened to staff and students at 8.10 this morning.
University Health and Safety personnel are investigating the cause of the incident and stress there is no risk to staff and students.
