Zepler Institute launches £100K research stimulus fund – apply now

Applications are solicited from all faculties of the University to the Zepler Institute Research Collaboration Stimulus Fund.

The Zepler Institute has been granted a £100,000 Research Collaboration Stimulus Fund for 2013/14.

This is funded from the Higher Education Innovation Fund (HEIF) allocated to the University by HEFCE to stimulate interactions with industry and other users of University research.

The Research Collaboration Stimulus Fund will pump prime small research projects that fulfil the following criteria:

1. Lead to the development of large scale research grant applications with significant industrial collaboration and use of the Zepler Institute Cleanroom Complex.

2. Applications involving multidisciplinary collaborations between existing Zepler Institute academic staff and investigators from outside FPSE will be strongly favoured. Funds spent in this manner will further embed the philosophy of multidisciplinary research utilising the cleanrooms advocated by the Institute and the University.

The Zepler Institute is inviting applications from all faculties of the University of Southampton but must include an existing Zepler Institute PI based within FPSE. Junior staff members are encouraged to participate as co-investigators. Requests for funding will be considered in any area of research involving usage of the Zepler Institute Cleanroom Complex (www.zeplerinstitute.com/facilities).

The deadline for applications is Monday 11 November 2013, 17:00.

For full details on how to apply please read the call for applications.
