IPC (Internal Post Code) reminder

An IPC (internal post code) identifies your mail point location within your building. Every mail point in every building has a unique IPC.

When you send mail internally if you add the IPC of the recipient it will aid in sorting the mail more efficiently. These mail points are referred to as IPCs to avoid confusion for staff and departments based between Highfield and the Southampton General Hospital sites.

The IPC is nothing to do with how we charge you for posting external mail. A full list of IPC’s can be found on  http://southampton.likn.co/estates/services/postportering/postroom/

Please use the ‘Internal Post Code’ (IPC), help us deliver your mail.

If you need further assistance contact the Post Room on, extension #22368
