Individuals from ages 65 to 75 needed for age-related hearing loss research

We are looking to recruit people aged 65-75 to take part in a study to investigate the effect of inflammation on age-related hearing loss.

Age-related hearing loss is the most common cause of hearing loss in adults, having a large impact on the quality of life. However, there is very little understanding of the mechanisms involved hence, limited treatment options available. the aim of the study is to determine if inflammation is a contributing factor in age-related hearing loss.

If inflammation is found to be a relevant factor in age-related hearing loss, it will provide additional routes for intervention. Interested participants will attend three separate appointments over a three year period. Each appointment will involve two different hearing tests and provision of blood and urine samples. an appointment will last about 90 minutes.
