Maintenance work is required on the University Filestore, in order to increase the resilience of the service. As this is a major activity you will not be able to connect to your personal and shared data stores until the upgrade is complete. This applies to both staff and students.
What the work impacts:
• Access to shared Filestore, specifically the J: drive
• Access to your home folder which includes:
- My Documents
- Desktop
- My Downloads
- My Pictures
- My Music
- My Videos
It is strongly advised that you save any important files or folders before the work starts at 18:00. However, you should still be offered an alternative location (such as C:\local) to save your file during the maintenance period.
If you urgently need to access any files or folders during that evening, we recommend that you save them to an alternate location. However, you should note that if that storage is not backed-up, the information will be at risk.
