Colleagues and students may be aware that UCU has indicated an intention for their members to take industrial action that will affect university campuses across the UK. This will take the form of strike action on the following days at set times:
– Tuesday 28 January, 2pm-4pm
– Monday 10 February, 9am-11am
The University will endeavour to maintain the excellent education experience it provides to its students. The University’s Business Continuity And Planning Group is assessing the situation and staff will be kept informed of arrangements.
To help minimise the impact we have provided the following guidance:
Will the University be open at the times of the strike?
Yes, though it is inevitable that there may be some disruptions to teaching and services.
Should students still come to lectures, seminars and examinations?
Yes, it is expected that students will come to University as normal. If known in advance, changes to teaching timetables will be communicated to students either by email or on the faculty noticeboards. If there are last minute changes on the day, guidance will be provided locally from your faculty’s Student Office.
