Information about Filestore and Banner service availability. Friday 28 February – Monday 3 March

As part of the Infrastructure Investment Programme, improving our IT, we are moving IT services to our new Data Centre.

This notice is to give you advance warning of the following:

  • Shared Filestore (J:\ drive) will not be available from 07.00 1/03/12 to 05.00 03/03/14
  • Personal Filestore (all ‘My Documents’ and the Desktop on University Windows PCs) will not be available from 07.00 1/03/12 to 05.00 03/03/14

 Please note that Research Filestore is not affected

  • Banner will be unavailable from 14.30 28/02/13 to 09.00 03/03/14 with the service being at risk on Tuesday 4 March

The impact of this will include the following:

  • You may experience a slow logon to University provided desktops and laptops
  • You may experience a slow logon to Public Workstations as well as Lecture Theatre PCs
  • If you logon before 07.00 on Saturday 1 March, you may experience performance issues.  This should be addressed by logging off and logging on again
  • You will not have access to files and folders that you will have stored in shared and personal locations
  • You will not have access to student record information

It is important that you should let iSolutions know if there is an essential University activity planned for 1 March that may be affected, so that we can help you manage this.

These and any other concerns should be raised with the Business Relationship Manager for your Faculty or Professional Service.
