 CITE Lunchtime System Seminar Series: What is the international student response to online courses in UK academic culture and language/skill development?

We are pleased to announce the next CITE Lunchtime System Seminar: What is the international student response to online courses in UK academic culture and language/skill development ?

Presenter:  Julie Watson, Head of eLanguages and Principal Teaching Fellow in e-Learning, Modern Languages.

This presentation will discuss a range of online courses that help international students develop their English for Academic Purposes (EAP) and support their transition to UK academic culture and which are developed and delivered regularly by eLanguages in Modern Languages.

These include an online pre-sessional course for international students (100+ students p.a.) coming to the Southampton Management School; a ‘ Get Ready for Southampton’ online course (2500+ students p.a. from all disciplines); and ‘Prepare for Success’ an open website of  learning resources  that has received over three quarters of a million visits from international students in 224 countries preparing for studies at any UK university or college. This presentation will showcase these three online courses and assess the student response to each of them.
