Fairtrade Fortnight – abolish the unfair banana

We are half way through Fairtrade Fortnight and this year’s campaign theme is to ‘abolish the unfair banana’. We can all do our bit for Fairtrade Fortnight by buying Fairtrade bananas. This means the farmers receive a fair price for their produce and so benefits communities through improved health care, education and sustainable production.

Look out for Fairtrade products and promotions at University and SUSU catering and shop outlets. We can all exercise our choice:  Fairtrade is for everyone and does not cost the earth.

Since 2006, the University is proud to be a Fairtrade University, and successfully re-applied for certification in November 2012. This means we stock Fairtrade produce in all our catering outlets and supply Fairtrade teas and coffees. We will apply again to retain certification in November this year.
