Tina Donnelly Distinguished Lecture

We are pleased to announce that Tina Donnelly, Director of RCN Wales and Commanding Officer (Colonel) at 203 Welsh Field Hospital, is the latest speaker in our Distinguished Lecture programme.

Having recently returned from her tour of duty in Afghanistan Tina will present her lecture Leading in Tough Times focusing on commanding a field hospital in a multi-national environment on Tuesday 1 April at 18:00 in the Hartley Suite; Building 38.

About the speaker

Mrs Donnelly is Director of the Royal College of Nursing (RCN), Wales since 2004. The RCN is the world’s largest professional union of nurses with a membership of 400,000 nurses, midwives, health visitors, nursing students, cadets and health care assistants throughout the UK, and has over 24,000 members in Wales.

Mrs Donnelly spent 4 years as a Nursing Officer within the Office of the Chief Nurse, Welsh Assembly Government advising on health and nursing policy, regulation, human resources, research and education.

She has also held management posts in the NHS and also senior academic posts in higher education in Wales and England.

She is currently the Commanding Officer of 203 (Welsh) Field Hospital.

In 2010, Mrs Donnelly was appointed as Deputy Lieutenant for Mid Glamorgan. In 2011, Mrs Donnelly was awarded Companion status of the Chartered Management Institute. In 2012 Mrs Donnelly was awarded an Honorary Fellowship of the University of South Wales.
