A fire broke out around midday today (Thursday 3 April) at the Mayflower development in Southampton which is being built for the University of Southampton by the Osborne Group. The fire was isolated to the roof of one building (Block B).
Everyone was evacuated from the building and no one was hurt in the incident. The fire service was on site immediately, the fire has been extinguished and the site has been made safe.
Osborne is working with the fire brigade to investigate the cause of the incident.
