Friends and colleagues of Dr Brian Webb are invited to sign a book of memory following his recent death at home in Wiltshire. His family has advised that the cause of death was an aortic aneurysm.
Over the last 18 years, Brian served in a variety of roles at the University of Southampton, most recently as a Bid Manager in Research & Innovation Services. Before moving to the University, Brian was Deputy Director of research at the THORN EMI Central Research Laboratories at Hayes, Middlesex which originated many significant innovations including X-Ray Computer Assisted Tomography for which Sir Godfrey Hounsfield shared the 1979 Nobel prize for medicine.
The book of memory for Brian is available in the RIS office on the first floor of Building 37 on the Highfield Campus during office hours. Friends and colleagues are also invited to attend a humanist funeral and wake in celebration of Brian’s life at The Woodfalls Inn in Redlynch, near Salisbury (SP5 2LN).
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations in Brian’s name to the Dog’s Trust.
