The University Council, the most senior governing body, has a vacancy for a member of non-teaching staff. The role requires an enquiring mind, someone who can think strategically and who can contribute to setting University Strategy.
Council meets six times per year (usually on Campus on a Wednesday afternoon) and considers a varied agenda from capital estate projects, long term strategy to monitoring the finances and accounts. Council members are drawn from a wide ranging background. You will be part of a team made up of senior University management, external lay members from other sectors (some of whom are Southampton alumni), academics from within the University and a representative from the Students’ Union.
If you think you have the qualities to be an effective member of Council as it guides the University in achieving its mission to change the world for the better through a strategy of distinction, globalisation and growth, we would like to hear from you.
For more information and guidance on how to apply, please contact Lee Abraham, Clerk to the Council on [email protected]. Please note that the closing date is 16 May.
