The Centre for Population Change will be hosting a seminar by John Bryant from Statistics New Zealand on ‘A Bayesian approach to deriving population estimates from multiple datasets’.
Many countries are looking for new ways to exploit administrative data for population estimation. The talk will describe a Bayesian approach being developed at Statistics New Zealand. It will include an application to estimating population by age and sex in 66 regions of New Zealand.
All are welcome. The seminar will take place on 2 June 2014 at 3pm in B58/1007, Highfield Campus.
