The Faculty of Physical Sciences and Engineering are pleased to announce that Professor John McCanny, Director of the Institute of Electronics Communications and Information Technology (ECIT), Queens University Belfast, will be visiting Southampton to give a Lecture.
Professor McCanny will give a talk entitled ‘Successful translation of Academic Research into wider Economic Impact’, at 17.00 on 10 June in the Nightingale Lecture Theatre, Building 67, Highfield Campus.
Professor McCanny is an international authority on special purpose silicon architectures for Digital Signal and Video Processing and Cryptography. His many honours and awards include a CBE, the IET’s Faraday medal and the Royal Irish Academy’s Cunningham medal. He is also the Principal Investigator at the £30M Centre for Secure Information Technology (CSIT), which is based at ECIT.
