The University’s ‘Bringing Research to Life’ Roadshow is back in the Discover Zone at Cheltenham Science Festival this week, showcasing the research of nine groups over six days.
This popular event hosts a diverse local, regional and international audience, drawing in school groups, scientists and engineers, politicians, science communication professionals and the general public.
This year’s Roadshow features interactive and hands-on science exhibits including:
- Collaborative work on T-Cells from Cancer Research UK;
- Driver distraction research from the Transportation Research Group in FEE;
- DNA-based research into childhood diseases;
- Electric vehicle battery management with Vehicle-to-Grid technology;
- Metal fatigue research for engineering materials;
- Biomechanical-based research into prehistoric marine plesiosaurs;
- Electrochemistry and novel catalysts;
- Sustainability research;
- Bioenergy and fuel sources.
Cheltenham Science Festival is a regular date on the Roadshow’s annual tour and the Roadshow is one of the ways the University seeks to engage a wider range of public audiences with the value and impact of its cutting-edge research.
