As part of a ten day residential visit to Johannesburg, post-doctoral students funded by the University of Southampton’s Economic and Social Research Council, Doctoral Training Centre, will collaborate with leading students at the University of Witwatersrand as well as practitioners from leading health and environmental consultancies in the city.
The residential trip will provide a unique opportunity for students to exchange innovative research ideas, critically review research methods and to mobilise long-term international relations in research areas such as health and education, development policy and environmental management.
In addition, the students will visit a range of projects in and around the city, including a children’s orphanage and a leading HDA project looking at HIV prevalence.
