Local accommodation and conference facilities

The Procurement team are delighted to advise that a new contract for Local Hotels with Conference Facilities has been awarded from 1 July 2014 to 30June 2016, guaranteeing rates for overnight accommodation and meetings, 365 days a year for the lifetime of the contract – there should be no need for anyone from the University to negotiate rates with these providers.

This has been a joint piece of work with the Procurement team and the University’s Conference, Events & Hospitality Office, not simply to negotiate fixed rates but to ensure that the venues are offering both a high standard  and value for money for University staff, students and visitors. Each of the 17 venues on the framework have been visited and have been measured against a set of pre-defined criteria. All venues will continue to be monitored by both teams during the lifetime of the contract and we would welcome any feedback from anyone who may use any of the venues.
