The Guardian’s Best Theatre Show of 2013 and international touring success, The Events, is a stunning combination of drama and music which delves into the human psyche and explores how far forgiveness will stretch.
Claire is a community worker who runs a community choir. Everyone is welcome. A boy comes to the choir but doesn’t join in. She thinks nothing of it, until the boy comes back…
The Events tells the story of a community tragedy, the limits of empathy and the path to healing. It explores a personal quest for understanding and asks how do you move on if you have been involved in something truly life changing? This powerful show features a local community choir performing an eclectic and distinctive soundtrack, which ranges from How Great Thou Art to Dizzee Rascal, as well as new music composed by John Browne.
The show has been given five stars by the Daily Telegraph, calling it “Witty… wise… provocative”.
