Research and Innovation Services (RIS), in collaboration with the University Library, have procured an institutional subscription to Scopus, the world’s largest abstract and citation database of peer-reviewed literature.
Scopus is designed to assist in the research information needs of groups across the entire academic community. Whether searching for specific information or browsing topics, authors, journals or books, Scopus provides precise entry points to peer-reviewed literature in a variety of fields.
The Library are hosting two training sessions in November by a Scopus expert, one for staff and postgraduates and one for undergraduate students, places are limited so sign up soon if you’d like to attend.
Some of the key features of Scopus include:
- 20,000 peer-reviewed journals with considerable international reach.
- Newly streamlined author profile page with ORCID integration and extensive citation statistics.
- Journal Analyser allows comparison of up to 10 journals using various journal parameters, including SCImago Journal Rank (SJR) and Source Normalized Impact per Paper (SNIP).
- Integration with the DelphiS library search system.
- An alternative source for bibliometrics, used by the QS World University Rankings and in REF 2014.
