The third annual review, celebration and awards for the University Roadshow – Bringing Research to Life took place last week.
The Roadshow Awards 2014 were presented by Professor Judith Petts, Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Research & Enterprise) and the event was hosted by the Roadshow’s co-ordinating team, Dr Steve Dorney and Dr Tony Curran.
This year’s winners were:
- Research Communicator Awards – Natt Day, Ed Musgrove, Chao You, Jess Donaldson, Sandra Mueller
- Best Engagement Activity – VerBon Cheung and the Nostalgia team
- Evaluation Award – Hannah Wardropper and the ‘Killer T-cells’ team
- Activity Design Award– Hitasha Rupani and the ‘Lungs’ team
- Best Collaboration/External Partner – Anthony Gallagher
- Best Host – Winchester Science Festival
- Innovation and Development Award – Luke Muscutt
- Outstanding Commitment Awards– Rich McIlroy, Mahdi Kiaee, Steve Phillips (Mad Science East of England) , Will Ashley
Professor Petts said: “The Roadshow is a very special Southampton activity. Staff and students have brought our research to life for public audiences not only through their knowledge but also their infectious enthusiasm.”
