How much do you know about the current pensions discussions?

To help ensure that staff are kept up to date about the current pension discussions, the University will be releasing a series of posts over the coming months drawing your attention to relevant discussions, debates, and news articles.

It is our belief that staff should be informed about this important topic. You can always check for more information on the University and College Union (UCU) website, the Employers Pensions Forum website, and the Universities and Colleges Employers Association (UCEA) website.

Below are some news articles and opinion pieces on the current pensions discussions – the views in these posts do not necessarily reflect the views of the University:

1) A post in the Times Higher Education (THE) outlining the proposals for pension reform.

2) Details and figures from the Employers Pensions Forum about why this is a necessary proposal.

3) A post in the THE about Oxford challenging the figures in the proposals.

4) A post written by the Employers Pension Forum about myths surrounding the pension reform discussion.

5) A response to the above article, written by various academics across the country, highlighting its assumptions and mistakes.
