The Digital Marketing MOOC, run across October, featured contributions from a number of staff, students and business partners of the University. We highlighted some key trends in digital marketing and introduced learners to our multi-disciplinary projects in gamification, digital literacies and web analytics.
The map shows the global distribution of learners. So far we have received nearly 17,000 comments and more than 41% of the learners contributed to at least one discussion. These conversations were facilitated by our efficient and helpful mentoring team which was led by Manuel Leon and featured a number of past and present students of the University.
We ran a Google Hangout featuring a panel of industry and academic participants, which has had more than 1000 views on YouTube already. A number of groups have been set up by learners on social media to continue the learning beyond the course: Facebook (225 members), Google + (716 members), LinkedIn (190 members).
We asked learners to submit their feedback about the course using the hashtag #DMreflection. Here is a Storify summarising the contributions received so far written by Alex Hovden, one of our Digichamps.
Lisa Harris, lead educator for the MOOC said:
“The feedback received throughout the course was overwhelmingly positive and I would like to thank all the educators, mentors and learners for sharing their stories so enthusiastically.”
