At the University’s Wellbeing Day, held last week, representatives from the University and SUSU signed the Mindful Employer Charter, signifying our willingness to work towards better practices around mental health.
As part of the Keynote session, Provost Adam Wheeler signed the Charter for the University, CEO Scott McCarthy signed for SUSU, while Sally Denley represented Workways, the scheme’s administrator.
Through the Charter, both organisations recognise that with appropriate support, the vast majority of people who have experienced mental ill health continue to work successfully as do many with ongoing issues.
University and SUSU staff can now download and distribute Mindful employer publications to help better understanding and support for short-term or extended mental health conditions. These include their Keeping Well at Work and Line Manager resources.
