Poetry event at John Hansard Gallery | Thursday 20 Nov

Five poets will each have ten minutes to present work based on the topic of money, finance, economics and value, in keeping with the theme of our current exhibition, Show Me the Money: The Image of Finance 1700 to the Present. Doors from 18.30.

There will also be a talk by guest speaker Professor Nicky Marsh, curator of the exhibition.

Based at the University, Professor Marsh has carried out research on late 20th and 21st Century British and American literatures, theories of gender, postmodernism, poetics and economics. In addition, Marsh has publishing material on contemporary women’s poetry, and is the author of ‘Money, Speculation and Finance in Recent British Fiction’.

Confirmed poets for the evening are Dave Hubble, Angela Chicken, Luke Welch, Joanna Mills and Stewart Taylor, plus Hannah Collins reading an excerpt from Caroline Bergvall’s ‘Fried Tale’.
