Last week, Dr Andrew White, Head of Safety & Occupational Health at the University, was appointed to the Industrial Injuries Advisory Council (IIAC).
IIAC is a statutory body providing scientific advice and support to the Secretary of State at the Department of Work & Pensions regarding the Industrial Injuries Benefit scheme. Chair of IIAC is Prof Keith Palmer from the Faculty of Medicine. Dr Karen Walker-Bone from the Faculty of Medicine is also a member.
Andrew said, “I am very pleased to have this opportunity, which will enhance my professional skills and outlook to the benefit of the University, raise the profile of the University, and also provide important public service”.
