Double Olympic gold medallist Shirley Robertson OBE is this year’s guest speaker at the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) Annual Lecture 2014 at Turner Sims on Wednesday 3 December, 18.00.
Shirley, who is also a TV presenter, businesswoman and mother, will deliver the RNLI lecture entitled ‘Delivering Gold’. All set to motivate, inspire and entertain, Shirley, who’s been an RNLI ambassador for many years, will spend an hour sharing her experiences.
The RNLI Annual Lecture celebrates the lifesaving charity’s Advanced Technology Partnership with the University. Set up in 2001, the partnership aims to develop research and education in subjects of common interest to the two institutions. It involves active research projects in engineering and sponsored students in Ship Science and most recently in Health Sciences and Management.
Attendance at the lecture is free. Tea and coffee will be served in the foyer at 17.30 with the lecture commencing at 18.00.
