Mechanical Engineering students awarded Lloyd’s Register Foundation scholarships

A trio of top performing students in Mechanical Engineering from the University have received scholarships for the second year in succession thanks to the generosity of the Lloyd’s Register Foundation (LRF).

malaysia scholarshipThe students – Jeremy Fong, Yap Jun Hou and Tai Je See – received recognition during a civic reception hosted by the University at the new Boldrewood Innovation Campus, where Lloyd’s Register has recently established its Global Technology Centre.

Vice-Chancellor, Professor Don Nutbeam, and Lloyd’s Register Marine Director, Tom Boardley made the presentations, praising the students for their efforts in maintaining the high standards established during their first year of study. All three of the students are amongst 20 who are now in the third year of their MEng in Mechanical Engineering degree programme which has seen them make the successful transition from the Malaysia Campus to Southampton.
