As you may be aware, the University operates a salary sacrifice scheme, called Enhanced Employee Benefits, which provides a beneficial method for members of staff to fund their USS or PASNAS pension contributions, car parking permits and sports centre membership, leading to increased take home pay in the majority of cases. Over 4,900 employees currently participate in these arrangements.
Once a year there is a renewal window in which employees have the opportunity to review their participation and selections under Enhanced Employee Benefits and, if they wish, make alterations for the following calendar year. This year’s renewal window will be open from now until 24 December 2014. During this time you can notify Payroll Services of any changes you’d like to make in time for the annual renewal date of 1 January 2015.
What should you do?
- If you are already in the scheme, and are happy with your selections, you do not need to take any action – your previous selections will be rolled forward automatically.
- If you are eligible to join the scheme, but are currently opted out, or if you would like to alter your selections under the scheme, you have the opportunity during the renewal window to opt in to the scheme, or to alter your selections, for the next calendar year. Please email [email protected] with your request.
- If you have previously decided to opt out of the scheme and wish to continue to opt out you do not need to take any action – your previous instruction will be rolled forward automatically.
- If you are currently opted in to the scheme but would now like to opt out, please complete the Opt Out form and send it to: Payroll Services, Building 37, Room 3083, Highfield Campus.
