As you will be aware, UUK and UCU were due to meet today (Thursday 15 January) to continue discussions regarding the proposed USS pension reforms.
Over the last few months, there have been extensive discussions which have resulted in some movement towards a potential proposal that may be acceptable to both parties.
As a result of this, UCU have agreed to extend the suspension of the current Action Short of a Strike (ASOS) whilst they consult their members on these developments. Consequently, we are pleased to inform you that the industrial action will not resume tomorrow (Friday) as expected and the ASOS will remain suspended at least until the next scheduled JNC meeting being held on 29 January 2015.
We are expecting to receive further information about these developments in coming days which we communicate when it is available.
