This event marks 70 years since the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau. It will last just over an hour and will feature Arieh Simonsohn, Holocaust survivor, speaking about his experience in the Warsaw Ghetto.
Music and drama has been specially created for the event, as well as the lighting of a specially designed memorial candle.
Southampton has been chosen to light one of 70 such candles up and down the country.
Dr Tom Plant from the Parkes Institute is organising the event, along with the University Chaplaincy and in conjunction with Southampton Solent University.
This free event will begin at 18:00 at the Southampton Solent University Conference Centre, Above Bar Street, Southampton, and is open to all. Refreshments will follow the candle lighting ceremony.
