The University is delighted to welcome broadcaster, journalist and author Jeremy Paxman to Highfield Campus on Wednesday 4 March. His book ‘Empire: What Ruling the World Did to the British’ has been the focal point for the inaugural One Book, One Southampton project.
UPDATE: We are delighted with the high demand on attending the lecture with Jeremy. All spaces are now filled, so we have added a waiting list option to the Eventbrite page, where we hope to accommodate as many staff and students as possible.
Students and staff are invited to join Jeremy as he leads a lecture on the themes raised in his book. Prior to the lecture, Jeremy has agreed to a book signing.
You can sign up for your free tickets via our Eventbrite page. We expect high demand for these events so please book early.
For more information about One Book, One Southampton, including the chance to enter the Empire student competition (with £350 cash prize) and an opportunity to suggest the 2015-16 book, please visit the One Book webpages.
Jeremy Paxman is best known as the question master of ‘University Challenge’, and for his 25 years as presenter of ‘Newsnight’.
