This coming Monday, Highfield Campus will hosts a charity screening of Fox Searchlight Pictures’ feature The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel.
The Rotary Red Carpet Gala Screening, at 19:00 on Monday 23 February in The Cube, will kick-off with public entertainment from 18:00 featuring the University’s Banghra Society, Bollywood Dance Society, and Kandyan and Bharata Dance Society in the entrance to the Students’ Union to create a festival atmosphere. This will be followed by the red carpet arrival of celebrities, business, civic and community leaders from across Wessex at 18:30 who will join members of the public in attending the screening.
The University and Students’ Union welcome Rotary International (a volunteer organisation serving the community) to celebrate Rotary’s 110th birthday with this Rotary Red Carpet Gala Screening.
All of the money raised from tickets and corporate sponsorship on the night will go towards taking isolated older people to see the film in cinemas in the following three weeks.
Whilst the film itself is fully booked, attendance to the pre-screening entertainment and red carpet on the Highfield Campus is free and open to the University community.
