Dr Pathik Pathak, Director for Social Entrepreneurship for the Faculty of Social and Human Sciences, has been selected by the British Council Vietnam to consult on their new initiative looking at social enterprise in Vietnamese universities.
Dr Pathak and Southampton competed against a number of UK institutions to be awarded the consultancy, working with the British Council Vietnam and universities across the country to introduce social enterprises into their curricular.
For the first phase of the consultancy, Dr Pathak will travel to Hanoi to advise on the design of an international conference and run a series of workshops for university leaders on the process of integrating social enterprises into university curricular. This will be followed by a five day study visit to the UK, hosted by the University of Southampton, during which delegates from universities across Vietnam will see a showcase of our successful work embedding social entrepreneurship into our curriculum and incorporating it into campus life.
Commenting on the success, Dr Pathak said,
“Winning this consultancy is recognition of our global reputation for embedding social entrepreneurship in to the university curriculum. It should also put us in a very strong position to further internationalise our social entrepreneurship portfolio through institutional partnerships with Vietnamese universities”.
