Southampton academic works with the NHS to develop new Culture Change App

Dr Stefan Cantore, Principal Teaching Fellow in Organisational Behaviour and HRM at Southampton Business School, has been collaborating with a new NHS national resource team, ‘Do OD’.

Their Culture Change App was launched in November 2014 to prompt thinking and action by asking questions and offering pointers. Speaking of the app, Stefan said,

“The questions help people think about what is going on in their context, and through conversations, explore what change might look like. The more people who have a conversation about changing culture, the more likely it is to occur,”

The Culture Change App will help organisational development practitioners on their culture journey by asking good questions, which lead to conversations that in turn lead to action.

Paul Taylor and Karen Dumain from Do OD said,

“As far as we know, this is the first ever organisational development intervention delivered via an app and we were helped enormously by the academic input and validation from Stefan and the Business School. We’ve already had some very positive feedback from people who have started using the app.”
