Be part of The Conversation

Academics and PhD researchers can learn how to can get their research and views featured on the news and opinion website The Conversation during a session with Commissioning Editor Joel Dimmock from 10:00 – 11:00 on Monday 16 March, in the Senate Room (4049), Building 37, Highfield Campus.

The conversation logoThe Conversation is a news and opinion website which combines ‘academic rigour’, with ‘journalistic flair’. It offers academics the opportunity to express their expert opinion on current affairs stories and discuss their own research with a growing audience.

Articles published on the site are routinely republished by major news organisations, such as The Guardian, The Independent and The Washington Post. Contributors receive readership figures and other data so they can assess the impact of their articles.

Joel spent 15 years as a journalist and editor at Reuters and AFP covering the banking and fund management industries before joining The Conversation. During the session, Joel will be talking about The Conversation, discussing how academics and researchers at Southampton can get involved, and taking your questions.
