The University is making preparations for the removal of the 3 storey modular building (Building 22) located within Engineering Square to the rear of Hartley Library, following the final decant of staff and building clearance completed earlier this year.
Preparatory work to prepare for removal of the modular units will be completed by 20 March. The buildings will be craned off site from Monday 23rd March to Friday 27th March, requiring the closure to vehicles of the road in front of Building 7 (Lanchester) during this period. Advance road closure notices will be positioned week commencing Monday 16 March and it will be necessary to close some footpaths within the immediate area of Building 22 (appropriate diversion signage will be provided). The attached plan indicates area affected and proposed road and footpath closures. The removal activities and road closures have been timed to take place during the Easter vacation in order to minimise disruption to University operations. Interim reinstatement works to return the area to a level site and terminate services will be undertaken from 30 March for a period of three weeks, allowing the removal of temporary fencing. We apologise for any inconvenience caused during these works which are being planned and managed to try and minimise distribution. If you have any questions or concerns regarding the works please email Peter Barton from Estates and Facilities.
