9 undergraduates and 3 postgraduates competed for Team Southampton at this annual event held in Bedford at the Alexander Sports Centre on Sunday 8 March.

The final saw Southampton compete against teams from Leeds Beckett University and Portsmouth University to win the championships.

Southampton first team (the Stags) came first beating Leeds Beckett University 29-23 in the final game.

Southampton student Scott Mills was named ‘Man of the Day’ for his performance. When talking about Southampton’s performance he said,

“The final was controlled by the stags throughout with solid defence and quality shooting from all players! I look forward to defending our title next year! Stuart Blakemore and Kenneth Thomas created havoc in the opposition defence and were at times unplayable… Louis Baldwin and Richard Latouche switched and shot superbly and Daryl chai put in the hard yards throughout and was a threat from the left… Solid team performance and deserved national champions!’
