Access to the Internet, including via EduRoam, from all University Campuses and Halls of Residence will be at risk on Saturday 21 March, from 09:00 to 17:00 as firewalls are installed.
Short outages of approximately 5 minutes or less may be experienced from 09:00, to the early afternoon.
This is the second phase of an ongoing project to improve the performance and resilience of the University’s border firewalls.
In this phase, supporting equipment will be refreshed and reconfigured, but security policies will remain the same. All applications that work through the firewalls before the change should work after the change.
Whilst iSolutions is planning to test all known critical applications, users are also encouraged to identify and test their own important applications both, before and after the change.
