We are delighted to announce that since the campaign website launched in January we have raised an additional £1m, taking the current total to a fantastic £11.5m. We aim to raise £25m to open the new Centre for Cancer Immunology at Southampton in 2017 and this latest increase in activity brings us one step closer to reaching our goal.
We couldn’t do it without your help and are thrilled that so many of you have already shown your support for the campaign. The Office of Development and Alumni Relations, who are running the campaign on behalf of the University, would like to thank each of you who have already made a donation to the campaign, as well as those of you who have liked, followed and shared our successes through our social media platforms on Facebook and Twitter .
Raising £25m will be a collective effort and success will rely on donations both big and small. Over 90% of the 708 donations made since February are made up of smaller amounts (£100 or less), showing that every donation really does matter.
The campaign has also resonated with our alumni community, directed through the University’s Annual Giving Programme, resulting in some significant financial gifts to the campaign. As a donor and advocate for the campaign, you are helping us to fund more life-saving research at the University by opening the first dedicated cancer immunology centre in the UK. Our new Centre will save more lives from cancer.
