The Vice-Chancellor established the prestigious Diamond Jubilee International Visiting Fellowships in 2012 to enable distinguished visiting staff to collaborate with the University on a range of research and profile-raising activities over a three year period. A total of 12 Fellows from institutions in eight different countries have already been appointed, hosted by staff across seven Faculties.
Following first call for applications earlier this year, three further Fellows were nominated:
- Professor Carolyn Emery, University of Calgary – hosted by Professor Maria Stokes, Health Sciences
- Dr Michelle Thomsen, Planetary Science Institute – hosted by Dr Caitriona Jackman, Physics & Astronomy
- Professor Nikolaos Vainos, University of Patras – hosted by Professor Rob Eason, ORC
Due to the availability of additional funding, there will now be a second round of applications for 2015-16 Fellowships. Further information, including the guidelines and application form, is available on the Global Connections webpage.
The deadline for Round 2 applications is Friday 29 May 2015.
