The Sustainability Team has stepped up its social media presence with new Facebook and Instagram pages, following feedback in their recent staff and student survey.

700 people responded to the questionnaire earlier this year and provided useful insight into awareness of the various initiatives, all of which will be used to inform future sustainability communications.

The survey showed that awareness of sustainability activities – particularly the Blackout – increased over the last year but it highlighted a disparity between this awareness and the level of understanding about the University’s broader sustainability and carbon management objectives and achievements.

The new social media pages, which will complement the popular and growing Twitter feed, will make it easier for staff and students to stay in touch and get involved with the University’s groundbreaking and award-winning initiatives and understand the impact they have.

More information about the winners of the Sustainability Awards; a Swap Shop at Winchester School of Art and the Sustainability Fayre are just some of the stories running on the Facebook and Instagram pages.

Look out for news about the University’s successful EcoCampus Platinum/ISO14001 accreditation (the international standard) and what it will take to maintain this platinum standard of environmental management.

The Sustainability team will continue to look for more opportunities to keep people up-to-date. As always, they welcome suggestions to [email protected]

The winners of the survey vouchers were drawn at random and have been notified by email.
