The University of Southampton features amongst the world’s leading institutions in this year’s QS World University Rankings by Subject. Southampton is rated 28th globally for Earth and Marine Sciences – up two places on last year. This includes our programmes in Ocean and Earth Science.

The QS (Quacquarelli Symonds) Rankings reviewed over 14,000 programmes at 3,551 institutions around the world to rank universities in 36 subjects. Universities appearing in the top 50 receive a numerical ranking. Those outside of the top 50 are placed in groups ranging from 51-100 and 101-150, to 151-200.
