Become a Sustainability Officer and make a difference at the University

_8JB2468

The University has a network of staff across all campuses who volunteer as Sustainability Officers. These staff share information with their colleagues, encourage more sustainable behaviours and work with students on our groundbreaking and award-winning events.

With the arrival of Lucy Potashnick as the new Environment and Sustainability Manager, this network is going to be re-launched at the end of July, and the team are looking for new recruits.

How much time this would take is entirely up to you*:

  • You can just join the mailing list to get regular updates on campus improvements, key sustainability issues, activities and work to maintain our ISO 14001 (EcoCampus Platinum) status.
  • You may choose to share information with your immediate colleagues or provide an update in your department meetings.
  • You could attend our termly events, which include networking lunches, training and relevant visits and tours.
  • Or you could join us in delivering events such as the Southampton Blackout.

At the University we view sustainability in the broadest possible sense, including social, economic and environmental factors, so the team are keen for broad representation within the network.

For more information, and to join the mailing list, please email [email protected]

* Where appropriate, please remember to discuss this with your manager.
